I should also add that the pedals are not slippery although they look to be so. The black lines are grooves cut into them and they give lateral grip even with snowy wet shoes.

That said, I always bang my feet off as best as I can when I have snow on my shoes and yet to have any issues

How do they attach? Do you find yourself having to tighten them every so often?
