Engine oil consumption

You are being had ie lied to.

Difference in compression between two cylinders has nothing to do with oil consumption.

Start checking your oil once a week. Add oil to bring the level up to the top line. Its OK for the level to be somewhere between the two lines but when it gets near the bottom one, add half a quart and check it the next day.

Check the oil in the morning with a cold engine that hasnt been run overnight.

Then report back.

PS My wifes car with 140,000 miles uses a quart of oil every 4000 miles.

Yes, the garage told me to check as well. What are possible negative effects of the difference in valve pressure? Lower engine power?

Hey you would lose a little power. That's less compression, means less power. That amount in one cylinder I don't think you would feel it. Unless you guys are drag racing. My 2008 HB 135,000 miles never uses oil, freaks me out. Highway miles like driving 75-80 for long period of time will use oil and of course aggressive driving will do the trick also. Would really be surprised if there is and internal problem that motor is TOUGH.
