New to this forum and buying a 07 Yaris
Hello all,
I am new to this group and I will be purchasing a Black 2007 Toyota Yaris 3 door hatchback 5 speed with 134,000 miles for under $3000. This will be used as a commuter for my new job. I had a Ford Ranger that wasn't giving me the gas mileage and this car hopefully will save $$ at the pump. I also have a 2014 IS350 f-sport and I am a member of Clublexus. My reason for wanting this particular make and model is for reliability and economic benefits. I already have a fun car and I wanted to stick with the Toyota family. As far for this car, the only flaw is that the roof is starting to rust so I will sand with a 600-600 mm sand paper then repaint roof (black is easy to replicate). It is already tinted but I do want to add cruise control, a receiver with navigation and Bluetooth and fog lights. Hopefully I will be satisfied with this new addition to the family fleet.

Welcome to the forum.
I came from a Ranger myself just a couple of months ago and I pretty much cut my fuel spending in half without even trying. Great feeling. |

Welcome!
You'll be able to find a wealth of info here for the cruise control, navigation/bluetooth and fog light mods you're looking to do --as well as a bunch of other cool stuff. Enjoy! |

Thanks for the welcome. I'm picking the car up Friday. I already ordered a OEM cruise stock. I think I will need a sensor for the clutch and some wiring to the ECM. I did my homework and called the dealer (Jim Hudson Toyota of Columbia, SC) to verify that the previous owner followed the maintenance schedule. No record of plug replacement, however, I will change the oil, engine and cabin filters, brake fluid and I will just change the plugs just to be safe. This way I know maintenance items are up-to date. I will do searches for the cruise control and fog light install and get to it. I have a good bit of background in car audio, custom subwoofer boxes and Honda vehicles and Ill be happy to contribute as well. Ill post pics later

Got it. Drove 4 hours yesterday and its not bad. I cant see why anyone would complain of the size. Its actually roomy and I'm 6'2". Once I install cruise and upgrade the cd player, ill be good to go.
How do I post pics?

Congrats!
I'm 5' 10" and it's okay, but if I had my druthers, I'd like to be able to move the seat back just a couple more inches. As for posting pics, you may not be at the post count required (10?) to actually upload them to the site within your post (using the paperclip icon you see when you click the 'Go Advanced' button). What you can try doing instead is uploading them to your YarisGarage (which you should do anyway lol), then click on them and copy/paste the browser link into your post using the square, yellow icon that has what looks like gray mountains and sun in it. Hope that makes sense... |
