Best passive protections against vehicle theft:
(1) Buy the most hated/ignored GREAT car in the U.S. - A Yaris hatchback.

(2) Buy a car with a manual transmission. How sad is that?
(3) Don't buy a car with theft-prone features (or any features that you don't like) that you can't disable once & have them stay off.
