Heater control unit replacement

A friend of me provided me an electronic (clima) heater control unit. My car has a manual heating control unit! Is there the possibility to replace my manual unit with the automatic one without any modification ? If not ... This was well documented in the forum. Use the search.

The auto climate control require quite a few modifications, and there are control modules that need to be added

microimage is a now defunct competing forum on which the undertaking of manual to digital HVAC was documented. Too bad since it had outlined the trials and tribulations of the conversion in great detail.
