the prius C engine is the one to use to make any substantial 'gains'. the original prius 1.5l engine is basically identical internal except for pistons. you can swap pistons to the yaris 1.5l, or swap yaris cams to the original prius engine.
the prius c engine has newer designs on some of the problematic 1nz issues (valve stem seals come to mind) but it requires 'some work' to install. i have a write up on an install in a 1st gen scion XB, i will post some. |
