i use usually different radiation detector. Before buying deifferent tools like geiger detector, you can read some info about this device. You can easily get a 15-25 CPM (counts per minute) in your natural surroundings. When a radioactive particle goes through the Geiger- Muller tube, it completes the circuit and produces the sound.
