Good points, Stidnam. I was actually having that problem with Toyodiy when looking for these part numbers in the cross reference box--some models returned didn't actually have that part number when you drill down into the diagram.
The other consideration for any ECU swap is wiring compatibility. Unless you go through pin-by-pin and identify all the signals on each ECU, it's not safe to assume that they're interchangeable. That's why we use the xD ECU here, it's basically only missing a few wires and everything is compatible. I've put dozens of hours into that kind of research for the 2ZR swap and I'm doing it again for the entire Yaris wiring system to be able to strip it down to the bare essentials for a race setup. |
