I run 175/65/R15(stock size) winter tires and 205/45/R16 tires for summer, my speedo is always 100% accurate, I even verified it with GPS.

Might be a 3rd gen thing, I dunno. I have never owned a 2nd gen

Did you mean 175/60/R15? Because 175/65/R15 has a much larger circumference that a 205/45/R16. I would agree 205/45/R16 because that's the close to 175/65/R14's circumference, which is what I believe my car is dialed to.
