pathetiq, it's 105/106 at the flywheel? and then you have the losses getting that power to the ground. The dyno shows HP/TQ actually put out at the wheels...
A stock yaris dyno's around 90hp? I think I read that on this site somewhere. Hey churp, It's not that I think low end was lost, it's that the gains are mostly in the higher rpm's. To me, that's a part of the power band I won't be driving in the majority of the time... Although I do think it'd be killer to see someone take a yaris and lighten the crap outta it, toss in a turbo or just spend $5-10k and go NA and beat the snot out of it at the track :) |

The ZPI Turbo kit said it actually increased MPG by 2-3MPG, but you must use high octane fuel, so it all evens out. Now if you go stompin' the gas everywhere you will probably get no better than 30MPG... probably a lot less.

WTF are you guys talking about lack of low end power?
First, there is no stock chart to compare these numbers to so it shouldnt even be discussed. Second, The dyno chart shows the car has 90% or more of its peak torque from 2000 to 5000 RPM. What more do you want??? That is a pretty broad powerband for a little motor. Look and the numbers compared to the Fit. The Yaris hits peak torque at about 4000 RPM, the Fit 5000. The Fit started out at a higher RPM and still looks like it had NOTHING on the bottom end. It is just starting to wake up at 3000. |

Weapon-r dyno says stock 76 tq and 77 hp at the wheels. So 100whp is not too shabby! edit: okay, i just saw the other recent dyno chart. 90whp?! wtf, now im so confused... Last edited by dngz; 06-10-2007 at 04:27 PM. |
