Today was a bad day. Tomorrow should be better.

This is how it goes guys... sometimes deadlines aren't met. I'm doing all I can, but these things take time. I'm telling you though, it is going to be sweet.

Chris, you want red couplers and white tubing? I'm about to start shopping.

All one color if you are able.. like all black everything, or all white maybe? No worries on it really though.

Any intake I own is high-temp flat black within minutes of leaving the box.

i just tested my DIM intake and switching to 2 1/4inch inner dia. (From 3) tubing took care of all my CEL issues... just drove 500miles with it between Sun and Mon. and no issues, responsive and my gas mileage went up a couple mpg (may be that I was driving mostly thruway...)... so no its time to take it all apart and make it look pretty :) i'll post pics when i get back to ny...

Astroman, I didn't forget about you. Don't you worry.

I'm still getting strung along on this. This sucks, but unfortunately there isn't much I can do. In the meantime I am going to order Chris's couplers and filters tonight for the first installment so I don't have to wait anymore once we have plate #1. I am just waiting to hear my price on the MAF plates and when I am going to have plate number one. He has already had the mockup for a week, so when I do get this info I expect the turnaround to be relatively quick. I am hoping to have the first intake in the mail towards the end of next week. Cross your fingers.

Chris, I'm sending you a PM.

OK, so we finally got a hold of the CNC guy out here and everything is set. We should have a working prototype of the production piece by next weekend.. Also, if I don't forget while I'm up there I'll take a picture of the style of these MAF plates and post it Monday. You guys will see that I am not cutting any corners. This is going to be a solid, professional looking piece.

There will likely be a group buy thread before these are mass produced. Once we have one working piece and we are sure more can be made without a hitch, you'll see the thread. Call it a preorder. I'll give you guys 2 or 3 weeks to get in on it, so you'll have plenty of time. The price shipped will be between $150 and $180 depending on a lot of stuff, but trust me when I say I am doing everything in my power to try and make sure that price is on the lower end rather than the higher. We will also offer an "unfiltered" version for a tad less, and we may even sell the plates by themselves for you DIYers. Expect a plate to cost $60-70 shipped and the unfiltered intake system to cost around $120-135 shipped. We have run into some unforseen costs along the way that have made this a VERY expensive endeavor, but I didn't come this far to give up so I'm pressing on.

Could I lose my ass on this deal? At this point, I'll be amazed if I don't. However, if you guys end up supporting this like I hope you will (and thank you again to everyone coming in this thread banging my door down for these, you guys are the reason I haven't given up) I promise I'm not going to take my money and run. What I am going to do is turn around and get a tax ID and work my ass off all summer to try and bring some new parts to our little Yarisworld. I've already been in contact with a few companies about what we may be seeing this summer, and let me tell you there is a lot of cool stuff coming out! I just want good quality at fair prices. This is all I've said I wanted from day one. Call this intake my good faith project to you guys... tell me you want more quality for less and I'll continue to do what I can to make sure we get it.

Expect the group buy thread in mid-April... right around my birthday.

My birthday is the same as yours, April 22nd. Do I get a special group buy discount? lol. Just kidding, the price your offering is already super awesome and I can't wait to install the ugly betty on my yaris. Oh, I FINALLY saw another meteorite metallic LB on I-90 today!! Of course I wasn't in my yaris, I always see other LBs when I am in a different car.

Good news buddy... chicks dig us Tauruses.

I paid the setup fee and down payment today on our soon-to-come MAF adapters. They look great. Lets hope that the first version needs no tweaking so we can get this project finished up and get some intakes on the market.

I should know later tonight when I will have the first finished adapter specifically for Yarii. By this weekend we should be welding. Stay tuned.

I was told this weekend we should have the first MAF plate. Assuming it is something close to perfect we will weld one up this weekend and see how it goes. Watch for pictures soon.
