Why do you feel the need to stay. Why do you feel the need to put down a car on a forum where you yourself own one? Two simple questions

I am German

Ohhh....

Just for the record, I am very happy with my Yaris. I think it is an EXTREMELY reliable car, it's pretty fun to drive, (a lil' too much road noise in the cabin, but whatever) I think it's very cute, and has excellent resale value. I hope to have it for many more years.

However, since I own one of each, I feel it's easier to compare. Getting into the 2009 Phit Sport and driving it you realize it's a step up. It's still an economy car, but if handles the road better, (I'm talking about stock only) it's quieter, it has the Nav system (which I can't live w/o, lol) more air bags, and electronic stability control, along with a 5-speed AT, which makes it quieter on the highway. If the Yaris gets an A-, the Phit is a definate A+

If you feel I'm too biased, I respectfully defer to the Wall Street Journal, ladies & gentleman...

How much more did your Fit cost than the Yaris though?

Several thousand dollars more...and as I've said on here a number of times, it SHOULD be a better and more substantial automobile; It costs a lot more. (Especially the way I ordered it...I believe I have every option available on the '09 Phit).

My yaris out the door was around 14k. I just did a build and price on a Fit and the MSRP is a little over 19k. Some of us got the Yaris because it was and still is much cheaper than the Fit.

Don't get me wrong, I think the new Fits are bad ass little cars.

Yaris = economy = cheap $$
Fit Sport = economy with lots of goodies! = a few grand more $$

Three thousand more financed it $60.00 a month. Some folks may not want to spend the extra $60.00/month.

I probably would if I could afford it.

I decided not to finance. I saved the $$ beforehand, and just paid cash. I didn't see the sense in financing. The money I'd pay in interest is money better spent eleswhere. I also keep no balances on my c/c's. I'm not rich, (far from it!) but I just don't spend more than I can afford to pay at the end of the month.

No diss to anybody who can't or won't budget this way, but I've found this system works best for me.

I wish I could save up that kinda cash but it would take a while with all the other bills and food for the family.

And I totally understand that. I'm a single guy, and I'm fortunate to have a little extra disposable income to play with. In many many ways, I am very lucky, and I always try to remind myself of that.

Sometimes I miss being single. If I was single and have the job I have now I would have so much extra cash that I would be able to finish my Yaris and have enough money left over to buy enough guns to arm a small army.
