Hi,
i have try to install this cruise control mod... But no cruise function... All switch are okay, i have buy the cc switch, i have connected the switch to the white and the blue wire ( around the purple wire ). my switch set-up are the same of the tutorial (4 switch with 240, 390 and 910 resistor ) I have buy 2 D3 wire and a A21 connector. the a21 connector goes to my red wire on my sitch and to the pin1 of the d3 connector. my black wire goes to pin2 of d3 connector and to the negative. I start the car, i push on the "on" switch... at 100Km/h i push on the "set" and nothing happen... what's wrong?!?

There is no purple wire near the CCS wire in pin 40 of connector A21. Looking at the connector from the wire entry side, there is a blue wire with silver marks next to it on the left and a brown wire next to it in the next row. Why did you add pins to D3? You only need to do so if using the OEM stalk, not for using the DIY switch method.

Thanks to you and CTScott. Just did this yesterday and it works great. I used the 2 switch set up. Took about 2.5 hours all in, time very well spent. Thanks again!

Thanks for the step by step info, I was wondering if it works for a 08 Yaris HB? and what type of switches are they, are they the click type (sorry not very professional) or push on-push off type?
Thank you, |

The switches need the be momentary normally open switches. Momentary is the type like a key on a keyboard, where you press it and it pops back up. Normally open means that it completes the circuit when you press it.

Is anyone having an issue with the cruise control indicator light? For some reason my LED doesn't light up when I engage the cruise (OEM stalk) all the time. I will press it again to disengage it and then it comes on. It will do that sometimes, and sometimes it won't come on at all when I engage it, and other times it works properly. At first thought, was thinking it might be a short -- but it only happens when the cruise is either engaged or disengaged as opposed to just randomly coming on or off while driving.

That looks fine. And, the negative wire goes to a good chassis ground?

OK. So if you measure between the positive and negative wires, you see 12V with the ignition on, and if you hold the ON/OFF button, it stays at 0V?
Also, the clutch switch is adjusted so that it is fully pressed when the clutch is up?

OK. And just to verify:
The top switch is on/off 0 You press that once. The switch on the right (which becomes the left when installed) is the set button. You get to 25MPH or higher and press that one (having already pressed the top one above).

exactly!
when i start my car i press the "on" button, when i go faster than 45Km/h i try to press "set" button. i have try to just press, and keep my finger pressing this button about 3-5sec. no result! the clutch control switch has polarity? the red wire on my ccswitch goes to the blue or the white wire in the fuse box in the driver side of the hood? or nothing important? |

the switchs seem to be okay, no pulse when i push button.
i fugure that the problem are my cc clutch switch... if my cc clutch switch are not okay, the cc are not functionnal. i have try with the jumper in the fusebox, and unfortunately i have the same result... i really don't know what is my cc problem, but i want to resolve that soon! |

Also, are you absolutely sure that you are on the correct pin on the ECM?

yes!
my connector was on the pin 40, i have make a re-check, and it was on the good pin. For the switch, i have tested at this time with 14 switchs, buy at different store. i have tested the 4 switchs mode, and the 2 switchs mode. Actually i have 2 switch untested, i try these 2 switch after the lunch. If the test are not okay, i pass an order for the stalk, or i pass an order for to momentary switch on an internet store.... |

i have try my last switchs, and nothing new...no cruise control!
on my first switch i have 12,35volts. when i push on, i have 0volts. on the second switch i have 8,35volts. when i push on this second switch i have 0volts. i have 2 resistors ( 1x240 and 1x390 in serie ). what are the best way to test my cruise control clutch switch? i suppose that is my problem. (i have try with the jumper but, no result) i have take a read of this 2 wires (in the fusebox, and i have no read (0volts) when i push the clutch, i have no read ...) if i read the white wire behind the puple wire, with the other blue wire, in diagonal i have a read of 12,33 volts. I suppose that my blue wire behind the purple wire, are no voltage on in. |
