It is plug and play if it is properly matched. You would need a PR spec one. You would also have to match the car's features - Transmission type, engine immobilizer or not, ABS, Traction control, etc.

Clear, concise instructions. Close-up pics. Couldn't have completed the job without this info.

Thank-you.

I am about 90% sure that the older (discontinued) Rostra kit will work with any of the non-US Yaris that do not have cruise control functionality built into the ECM. The newer kits definitely will not as they are just an overpriced version of the parts that I sell and require the ECM to have the functionality.

The discontinued Rostra kit was 250-1797 for MT and 250-1796 for AT.

I actually have one of the kits in my possession.

Hi, I'm from the Ukraine and i have a 2012 Corolla, 1.33 1NR-FE. This version made in Japan only for Russia, Ukraine and other countries of the former USSR. Quation is simply: would cruise work on my Corolla? Because i now, that on 1.6 Corolla it work http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/foru...-instructions/, but in my case it not (( I can tell, I have tried to check voltage between ECM 40 Pin and Ground when ignition On, but result is 0v ! Maybe it not the fact, that ECM for Yaris and Corolla are same? But how to know which pin to check in Corolla 1.33 1NR-FE?

Do the connectors on the ECM on your Corolla look like the 2006-2011 Yaris connectors or like the 2012+ Yaris connectors?

OK. In that case from what I have seen of other Toyota vehicles that use that same connector (the Camry for instance), cruise control is pin 40 of the smaller connector as well. So, that means that you reading 0V on that pin on yours likely means no cruise control for you.

Miserably, but I need to hear it from you to calm down ))
In other words: it just does not provide by the firmware ECM.
Anyway, good-bye cruise!

Hi Scott (or anyone else who might have some insight). My friend has a 2004 Toyota Echo 2 door Hatchback (non RS). He wants to know if there is a DIY Cruise Control method like this for his car as well. He really wants cruise added for his daily work commute. I told him if anyone knows it will be the guys on here.

No. The Echo was cable throttle, so installing cruise control would mean adding a vacuum operated throttle cable actuator as well as the electronics to control it.

Thanks Scott, So I'm gathering his best bet would be to find a wrecked RS version (or any one equipped with factory cruise) and just swap over all of the OEM components.

That would be the best bet, as it would be pretty expensive to purchase all of the parts separately.
