I hear the same noise too. I mentioned it to the tech when I went to the dealership for my first oil change about three months ago. Apparently nothing was done that time. May be I will mention it again when I go for the next oil change.
The strange thing is sometimes I hear it when I switch to the R gear, sometimes I don't.
Since nothing serious has developed, I am now ignoring it. I don't know if it is right to though.

Re the last two posts by Dawn Eshelman and rstb88.
I have heard the same rattling noise too. I mentioned it to the service adviser the last time I took my car to the dealership for oil change. I guess the problem did not occur there and so nothing was done. Sometimes, I still hear the same noise when I engage the reverse gear whilst stepping on the brake.

go ahead and send me a pm on how to check and see if the mount is being rubbed. cause that'll give me a reason to look at the suspension as well.

im a diesel tech and im pretty sure the "dit-dit" or clicking noise u hear when u shut the car off is the thermostat in the engine poping in and out, cause once u shut the car off, everything is off, even the cooling system... so bsically the engine cooks itself, its alright no need for alarm, my dodge dakota, my chrysler cirrus, my girlfriend's '88 buick lesaber does it... to eliminate that sound... just dont pay attention. hope that helped
