oh my! lol driving in 3? I haven't driven an A/T up until about 4 months ago.... I go to get in my gf's versa and still find myself trying to put the clutch in on an A/T, force of habit I guess....

3 and D are seperated by a slight tap on the Yaris. It's a somewhat common thing for those not used to the car to have it in 3 for at least at moment especially since they aren't used to looking at the dash and don't notice the gear icons there.

The first Yaris I drove was an auto that I picked up as a rental at the Tampa airport one night. It took one glance at the instrument panel to realize there was a gear indicator there. Even driving at night in an unfamiliar place, I had no problem driving it, even downshifting into third to see how the engine would respond.

I can understand maybe not noticing for a moment or two; but to drive around for more than a few minutes without realizing it is beyond comprehension to me. Honestly, it scares me to think these people are operating a motor vehicle in traffic on public roads!

Actually, the way people drive around it, I guess it really doesn't surprise me...

1) the fact that a mod posted on this thread means nothing

2) that was before the thread turned into nothing but talking about the person who drove in 3 in their a/t

Well, if you have been around here for more than two posts you might realize what I am talking about. But you are already proving yourself as probably one of the people this thread is targeting...
