well what it's down to is 350z, rsx type-s, yaris

-350z means i get a beater in a few months as a daily
-yaris means i get a 240 after winter is over
-rsx type s means get a 240 later on

I have only wrecked 3 out of the 8 cars I've owned in my life. Honestly I found a certified 08 white yaris for 10k with 10k on it and I think I'm gonna just jump on it. That or this nice type s yaris for 13k with 15k on it I was also thinking about a miata, but I love the hatchback of the yaris.

One of my friends just said he'll breakup with me if I get a yaris again, rofl! The Z and the 240 are looking pretty appetizing now. You guys aren't helping me lean towards a yaris at all... maybe for the better

lease a yaris and make the purchase decision later
ps: don't buy some used 350z-- it's being sold at an 'affordable' price for a reason

The new prius is nice but the price tag and no power... or the feel of no power is just a NO. Yes the yaris has now power but at least you can spin the wheels and go fast through windy hilly back roads :)

Thank you YW, for criticizing the guy instead of giving your opinion on the question he actually asked. Granted, your opinions on sleep deprived driving are relevant to his continued safe driving and the safety of every other person on the road but in this case he isn't going to listen anyway. I'm sure his friends, parents, and local police officers have already told him repeatedly not to drive on no sleep, but he obviously hasn't listened.

With that said, your buddy who is going to "break up" with you sounds like a pussy, and isn't a real friend. Unless he has a REALLY good reason for not wanting you to have a Yaris, that's just silly. The 350z and the Yaris are both relatively new cars, but they are totally different animals behind the wheel. You should make a decision on your car based on your needs and driving style, not what your 'friend' tells you is cool. Both cars are fun to drive, and that's where the similarity stops. The Yaris is tossable, fun to drive on twisty roads, great on gas, and is very utilitarian for such a small, cheap, fun car. The 350z is faster. Maybe not on an autox course, but just about anywhere on the road, the 350z is faster - which will be reflected in your insurance policies. It's not as tossable as the Yaris - it's like driving a bulldog around twisty roads. It doesn't have nearly as much cargo or people space as the Yaris. It is going to be more expensive to operate.

If you are accident prone, the Yaris is going to be more forgiving than the 350z. I don't know about safety ratings for the 350z, but you should look into that as well.

You have to figure out what your priorities are, and choose a car accordingly.

I agree with you. I told my friend in a similar situation the same thing. But really, the best we can do is give him our opinions and let Darwin sort him out.

this is the most positive response yet, rofl

seriously I'm looking to get into a car under 15k with the most bang for the buck. IMO if I am going to spend 14k on a new yaris I can get a rsx type s for about the same price with basically double the bhp and lots more luxary. It comes down to do I spend 10k on a yaris or 13-14k on something else
