Well, close! Sort of. They are an alloy...of copper, with tin. Standby for pics...

New Colored Wheels...
I tried to approximate what Kimona suggested. They came out darker than I had hope for. I put on the minimum number of coats to cover and it ended up darkening them down. Also, not sure that this style of wheel lends itself well to this color. It may take me some time to fall in love with them, if ever. I will say that I do like the contrast of the darker wheel and the center cap and lug nuts. Maybe I'll pick up a set of black lug nuts and black Toyota (aftermarket) center caps. I do believe they're available on ebay. I cheaped out on the labour and paint quality on this job. I just used Duplicolor acrylic enamel with no clear coat. It's supposed to be quite durable. I simply didn't feel like going to the hassle of using 2K products this time. And, these will only be on the car on 'special occasions'. Feel free to share opinions. ![]() ![]() ![]() And, on the car... ![]() ![]() ![]() Close Ups... ![]()

Dark is good. I really like them! You did a marvelous job. And, you created a little excitement on the yarisworld forum.
EDIT: I may consider painting the centre caps the same "root beer" colour and getting some black lug nuts. (But, I presume you're switching caps and lugs with your other set of alloys). Last edited by kimona; 04-30-2020 at 12:59 AM. |

I have to do some measurements on the Hyundai wheel. The Yaris has a 54 mm center bore, but these caps vary from 52mm to 57mm. I think that's the outer diameter of the cap itself. But the Toyota caps actually recess into the Hyundai wheel. I think the 57mm cap would sit on top of the hole and not snap into place; not engaging the retaining tabs. https://www.ebay.com/itm/X4-TOYOTA-W...8AAOSwUqJdu7fL Or https://www.ebay.com/itm/X4-TOYOTA-W...IAAOSw1p1d-xfX EDIT: After looking at these caps again, they're kind of glossy. Maybe a more matte/flat would look better. I suppose I could clear coat them with a matte as long as the plastic didn't react adversely. Also thinking about satin or matte back lug nuts. Am I getting carried away? ![]() EDIT 2: If the silver caps I already ordered actually fit, I could just paint them satin black.

I think they're growing on me. We'll see with black lugs and center caps.

As I said on the 'gram, I dig it.
Interesting that Kimona favors the darker, but doesn't like black wheels. I have black wheels, but as I commented to you on Instagram, think a shade or two lighter would work even better. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! |

Edit: I'm actually thinking about applying a 2K clear coat over these wheels. It is advised against - being a 1K enamel - but if I dust 2 to 3 coats on and let them flash off, I might get away with heavier coats after that. I actually sprayed a little clear coat on one of the playing cards that had over spray on it. There was no adverse reaction. I'll give the wheels a couple of weeks to cure fully if I go ahead with this.

Thanks. The bolt pattern is 4 x 100.
Here's an 'informational' video I put together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7noAaBv_5c

Indeed they are for these models of Toyota and Hyundai. Not sure about other models.
