Fiberglass can be fixed/mended to look like new in case of an impact, whereas with any plastic (be it ABS or urethane) this is very difficult, if not impossible. Also, the "wavy effect" that critical mentions can happen to any surface that is not completely smooth. That applies to ABS as well is it's not fabricated correctly.
