Before I had done any performance mods and was still running factory steelies and tires I got 115mph out of my sedan. It felt like it'd keep climbing a bit past that if it wasn't for the governor.

I've gone 117 in mine. I think I could probably get it to go a little faster. I had to slow down because there was a turn in the road. Beauty of backroads :)

165.737 @ Bonneville last year.
Just kidding.  105 when she was stock, with three dudes in the car. I was racing a built silverado diesel, and he walked me. Shut her down @ 105 because the damn thing just didn't feel stable on the stock steelies/narrow tires.

I have had my Yaris for 1 week now and I totally agree that it is easy to go over 80 with room to go a lot faster. We find that we have to keep checking to make sure we are not speeding because the ride is so smooth. It is nice to know it has the speed when you need it but we are trying to increase mpg and high speed doesn’t help.
Has anyone tried to dispute a ticket by saying something like seriously officer you know I am driving a Yaris right? |
