There should be little if no color variation, since I used OEM paint codes and colors. As stated previously, the paint guy at Toyota said that even if we go by the book on this, paint variations may occur from country to country. Since I obviously don't have access to foreign yarii to test the colors on, it makes color matching a very difficult endeavor on this side.

What I can guarantee is that the color match is perfect for MX yarii models. Oh, and USDM too, as far as I can tell from redyaris' and paradigm's pics.

So how do these things look like with the turn signal on? B/C they're half-covering the turnsignal reflectors, right? Any pics would be appreciated...!

No effect Doc. The entire top of the headlamp unit contains the bulb. You also have the side marker lamps for turn signals (and in my case the nifty LED mirror signals)....

What I meant was (refer to pic attached below -- thanks Thomas) was that the turn signal shines through 2 clear windows, and has this opaque, frosted bit in the middle. The clear window closer to the center of the car is now mostly covered up (I'm going from memory here... at work right now). So I'm wondering if it looks weird having the turn signal flashing out of this little corner under the eyelid.

Thoughts?

Well, the signal bulb and reflection in the housing will still be clearly visible from the front and sides, so it will not cause any problems in that respect. Which I think is the real beauty of this little add-on, it's almost as if the car designers wanted people to add eyelids...

Well the bulb itself is sitting on the outboard side of the housing...any reflection that gets 'blocked' will be on the inboard side.

As far as getting pulled over im sure Police from coast to coast are busy adding 'illegal eye thingies' to their lists while bridges are collapsing and mass murder is being committed.

White is hard to match, we had to color-match my car for the bodykit, even though the car is only two months old.

Wow... that sucks!

I had some eyelids repainted and waited 24 hours for them to cure. Apparently, looks like 24 hours wasn't enough for some of them.

How deep are the bubble marks embedded into the paint? If it's not too bad, a good polish should be able to take care of the problem. If the marks are deeper, however, things may get more complicated to fix. It could be as easy as getting new clearcoat on, or as bad as getting the eyelid repainted.

This is all part of the learning process for me, I guess. I'm going to be waiting for at least 48 hrs from now on before I ship these. Also, I might also change the packaging material, since apparently it's not helping matters much either.

I'm really sorry for these problems, guys. I guess there are 2 ways to get this remedied: Either I reship new eyelids to you, which will take some time (24 hours to get them painted + 48 hours to cure + 24-48 hours to show up at your door), or you can get them repainted at your local body shop. They already have the color they need to get it matched, so it really shouldn't get them long at all to get done.

Of course, price is another issue. I would need you guys to let me know how much they would charge to repaint. I am willing to help out however I can, but I really don't have much money left over, so I would really appreciate some help from your side in order to minimize costs as much as possible.

I am available as always through PM or IM, so please let me know if you have any comments/concerns/suggestions.

Thanks again for your understanding!

Do you think that only the clearcoat surface has been affected, or the paint as well?

It shouldn't cost too much for something this small, but I really can't say for sure.

Another idea would be to place the eyelids in an oven for a few minutes. That should loosen up the rough areas and evenly distribute the paint. Of course, this would have to be done at very low temperatures so as to not burn the eyelids up. This may also mean that the double-sided tape on the bottom may become unusable after this procedure.

I've been trying to contact the painter, but he's not available at the moment. My suggestion then would be for you guys to hold off on doing anything to the eyelids until he tells me what should be done to fix them properly.
