85% chance of getting a Yaris, need help between 2 colors.
My 98 Taco has been overheating, and with a total replacement of cooling (everything) it looks like this time, on Easter Sunday of all things, i fear a HG fail. Signs point to it, but maybe...just maybe.
Anyways, with the price and financing of Yaris the way it is, i want to get one. Actually this was my firm choice last October when it overheated last time, but i got it fixed easy. My Taco is white..or it was, iono iv only drove it for 2 years, is my dad's. Its kinda yellowish white i guess. I have a thing for white cars, silver cars 2nd. Iv read alot on the whole thin paint and scratch easy threads. And i believe white and silver cars would be good on hiding scratches. But which is the better? On my Taco, scratches show silver (metal?) under the white, i dont know if this is the case with Yaris paint. Whats under white and silver paint? I forgot to add that this would be for a LB Last edited by ezhacker1; 04-15-2009 at 02:36 AM. Reason: add info |

Silver FTW, although white does look better when modded IMO

(But between the two, I'd have to take silver.)

Mine is silver and I love that it (1) doesn't show scratches very badly and (2) doesn't show dirt. Even when it's filthy (like right now) you can't tell unless you're right beside it.

Silver - i have red and we're in the middle of "tree pollen" season. my car looks like it has yellow freckles...looks very weird on a red car.
at least the storm we're having today will remove most of that |

White looks horrible if you have any rust and it will look dirty far faster than silver.

Silver was my first choice but I ended up with Absolutely Red. Absolutely Red has its advantages, though, it's easy to spot in a parking lot, lol. I love my "little tomato" now. Such a cute car, you can't really go wrong with any color, although black and white show dirt more easily, I think.

I wanted white, but nobody in the northeast had the car I wanted. I ended up with Absolutely Red, and I love it.
White is an easy color to keep clean, and always looks fresh. Silver is boring :D |

Each to their own. Absolutely Red is absolutely my favorite, but you can't get that on a sedan. I'm happy with my Barcelona Red.

![]() I have '09 Bayou Blue and the color under the Bayou Blue paint is white. So, I was thinking of getting white color for my next car. Maybe it changed to white from '09?

It would be hard to get me into them colors. But dirt hides better on silver.
I got blazing blue but I had to have a car that minute and it was the only one with the stuff I wanted that day. Tetzyamis Mine was built 10/08 but it’s a 09. It has white under the blue on mine.

i voted for both.
the Yari's Polar white is note white white, it's kinda yellowish white like you describe. Kinda on the beige side of the white. but not yet beige. I think it looks really good. although, if you get the 09 hatchback, it comes in pearl metallic white. Must like the pearl white that comes with the lexus IS300. Again, it is really beautiful. Anyways... white gets dirty easily, but i find it stays clean longer over the years. ie, like a new car. I'm really pissed at mine right now, scratches, goo stucked on it, etc. but at a glance, or under night lights (gas station usually), i find it still really pretty and shiny :P If you are wondering what's under the paint, car markers USUALLY primer the car in contract with the colour of the car. Ie, a red car uses white primer, and a white car usually use black primer. (it is more like grey primer on a white yaris though) |
