The opposite sex can't stay away with ssk
I installed a nst ssk. It took 3 min. even with my big hands. It is the mod everyone should have. After the install I took a short drive, and all the ladies were giving me their digits. I cant wait to find out what will happen with a nst tow hook

Kinda sucks for someone who's short, has the seat moved up far enough to be able to reach pedals comfortably, but still has issues puttin it in 5th due to the reaching foward...

If you can reach the shift knob in your car right now, and want to have shorter throws, then the NST SSK or NST SSK-2 are the perfect options for you! |

But....if after all that you still want a tighter fit. I would elect for the metal shifter link bushings. They replace the rubber bushings and decrease any play in the connection. That'll make it the shifter VERY tight.Oh, BTW, the metal shifter link bushings are from NST and are available at MicroImage!

how is someone not in your car gonna know if you have a ssk or not, and if they are going to know, why would they be impressed with the whopping 97hp, tiny engine, stock 9" brakes, or the fact that the car weighs in at a whopping 2300 lbs??? ![]() it's an economy car...not a bugati, not a lambo, and def not a ferarri. oh i get it...it must have been the OP that got their attention... ![]() so noone's confused...i'm not flamin...and yes i'm making fun of my own car. |

It is even better with the SSK-2, a Delrin shift knob, and a 3" shifter extender!! (all available at your local Micro-Image)
They have made shifting smoother and my wife likes the smoothness of my new knob.

I installed the short shift kit, the cage bushings and cable bushings about a month ago and I love them. I would never go back to stock, the shifting is quick and precise, I love it!
And with the NST underdrive crank pulley and the water pump pulley (also got the alternator pulley, but haven't got time to install it yet), the shifting has improved considerably. A lot of people were saying that the light NST pulleys will affect the throttle control a little (since the engine will rev easier because of less inertia), but I actually LIKE the way it changed. I consider the new feeling a definite improvement! I feel like shifting is easier now, first because of the shortened shifter travel and second because the engine rpm will match the speed of the car in the new gear faster, making the overall shifting experience smoother. Can't wait to save some more money for a few new goodies from NST. Christmas is coming...
