Yaris battery problem ... Stuck in a parking lot ... HELP!

Hey guys,

Writing this sitting in a dead Yaris. 2007 sedan. Here are the symptoms:

1. Battery dies unexpectantly after driving in it for about 10 mins. Shouldn't be a dead battery or alternator cause I just stopped the car for 5 mins max.

2. Has happened before where I would then open the driver side door and then close it. Magically the power returns ... WTF?

3. Toyota had been advised but couldn't recreate the problem.

Any ideas?

Battery's indicator window shows it is charged ...

Checked the battery terminals to make sure they're not loose?

Do you have power door locks and windows? If so, try pulling the 30A Power, 20A RL Door and 20A RR Door fuses one at a time (from the under dash fuse panel).

Do you know if the battery even has a charge? Time to drag out the handy dandy volt meter.

I once had the same symptom in a Mustang. It turned out that the negative battery post was loose inside the battery casing. When the engine compartment and battery was hot (after driving) the car sometimes was dead. No crank. Not even a soleniod click. I never had an issue during cold starts.
Replacing the battery solved my problem.

had it happen to a friends ford, he would drive it and all of a sudden it would.... well....become a ford (found on road dead). turned out replacing the connectors to the battery was the issue. they seemed tight and u couldnt move them but according to a mechanic they stretch and wear out and u cant tell.... lol.

temp fix, find a good thin steel or copper nail...or a few and hammer them in between the connector and post.
