How much do you need to sand the chrome parts of the headlights during a Projector

How much do you need to sand on the chrome parts during a projector retrofit?

Is what I've done on the left side sufficient, or does the whole thing need to be more like the right side?

Use an oven cleaner. According to The Retrofit Source forums its the easiest and cleanest way of taking chrome off.

Just scuff it. When you can no longer see any clear reflection anywhere on it, it's fine. Hoenstly though when I did mine I was super lazy and just hyper quick scuffed it. Lasted 8 months so far.

heh I got lazy waiting for a reply so I did most of it similar to what's on the left. I'm using Krylon Fusion so if past experience is a valid indicator I shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I just use some chemicals here in malaysia thats mixed with a little acidic solution. I just throw it in, go for a drink, come back in an hour, it just drops off. Like brand new before the chrome coating
