2009 to 08 bumper swap

Mods forgive me if this has been covered somewhere;

Has anybody tried to swap a 2010 front bumper for a 2008? The point where the two bumpers fit to the fenders and hood look nearly identical. Did they change the mounting points when they changed the style?

They are identical. To swap you would also need a set of headlights, as the '10 headlights have the "dent", where the '08s do not.

Good news! I have been jonesing to swap for some cool headlights and it would seem the only way to do that with a 2010 is to just pitch the newer bumper in favor of the older model.

Now, can I get the guy up the street to trade me his already painted bumper for mine...

So, If I bought a 2009-2011 Yaris HB and wanted to install some JDM/aftermarket taillights (none made for the 2009-2011 refresh that I know of), I could install a 2007-2008 bumper + taillights with zero fitment issues? Does the 4-door hatchback use the same exact bumpers as the 2-door HB?

Correct on all. The 07-08 JDM tails will fit the 09 bumper, but will stick out a tiny bit where the 09+ bumper has the chopped off points just below the tails.

yeah sucks there's no aftermarket headlights for the 09+ eh. You could go JDM HID headlights for the 09 but that would run you at least 600 all said and done lol.
