5W-20 vs 5W-30 Motor Oil
I brought my Yaris LE 2014 to get it serviced at the dealership, and they gave me 5qts of 5W-20 motor oil. I know my manual states for 5W-30 oil. What is the difference? Will it affect my car? I'm in NY, and my next service isn't due until July, 2015.

I suggest you do some basic research to understand oil grades.
You will be fine running 5W-20 until your next scheduled visit. At that time, I would question the service adviser as to why they took it upon themselves to put in 5W-20 the last time.

5-20 oil and 0-20 oil is widely believed to improve fuel economy and in upsstate NY in winter it will ceertainly improve starting.
Almost certainly in older cars it will however lead to increased oil consumption. My wifes 05 Camry with 120k on it used to go a full 5000 miles with minimal oil consumption. Now its uses a quart in ~2000 miles. This after 5000 miles the oil level will become dangerously low if none is added. (which Im sure most people dont do) So now I use 10-30 in that car and Im going ~4000 miles to a quart. I would request 5-30 oil from the people who change your oil. Might be a problem in summer with 5-20 in there. But probably no harm to leave it as is until July.
