Takes a lickin...

Unfortunately... i got smoked from behind in my 13 day old Yaris hatch the other day... full fault on the guy who hit me, so i wont have to pay for it, but a shame none the less...

I just thought I'd mention that the Yaris stood up to it pretty well, my passenger and I were both fine and I was able to drive it home from the accident, which is more than I can say for the other guy... his acura folded like a cheap lawn chair.

HAS ANYBODY else read about the DATALOGGING feature of the Yaris and how they are using CRASH INFO from wrecks to help in future design and what-not... it can sense ALL KINDS OF STUFF when you're hit..and they promise they won't use it against you unless you sue them..or they cops ask for it
Anyway..i'm glad to hear everything was ok..sux to get hit in a new car.

The crash data is going to be a touchy subject and will most likey be something the courts are going to have to decide.

The collision shop was so booked I won't get in for a few more weeks, but I'll keep you guys posted...

pics-wise, i dont have any of his car so you could see the comparison to mine. As for my yaris, from the outside it just looks like my back bumper is wrecked, there is a lot more visible damage underneath, but its too low to the ground to get any perspective with my crappy camera... ill work on it though.

Thanks for the reminder about the datalogging, ill look into that!
