I'm paying just about $900 a year for insurance. 24 y/o female with clean history. $500 deductable and full coverage. I was lucky and was able to sign up with USAA because my dad had it while he was in the military. They gave me a much better deal than any other quotes I got by at least $100 each and those were only for minimum coverage with a lot of basics like windshield replacement excluded. If you happen to be in the military, married to someone in the military, retired from military, or a child of someone who has/had USAA while in the military, check out USAA.
Of course, don't forget factors like what you use the car for, how much milage you put on the car, and where you live. I live in the suburbs and for the most part my car gets me to and from work. (usually ~10k miles a year)

Im in Canada, so ours rates arent exactly comparable for any number of reasons... veh insurance in the US and Canada are SO DIFFERENT.

But I pay 243$/month

I'm 25, no tickets or anything. Had my full G licence since Mar 2003, my G2 in Mar 00, and my first one, G1 back in Nov 98.

When I turned 25, my insurance dropped by OVER HALF (in Canada, ALWASY have huge drop offs once u hit 25). its why I just bought a car now. I simply didn't wanna pay more for insurance each month than I was paying for my car.

Other things that reduce your insurance (up here anyways)

1. Dont live in a large city... MUCH MUCH MUCH rates than if you live in a smaller city or town (more traffic, larger highways/freeways, therefore higher chance of accidents and claims gonna be made, therefore pay much more for insurance)
2. If you are insurance more than one vehicle or have like other forms of insurance thru the same company
3. Get married
4. The safer the vehicle, the cheaper your insurance will be

Those are ones I can quickly recall

20 years old.
clean record.
I also have the good student discount plus renter's insurance.

I'm with state farm
I was quoted at:
$162 a month with $500 deductible
or
$142 a month with $1000 deductible.

btw,
I don't have the car yet,
so I may shop around and look at different companies.

as of right now,
I drive a 95 Honda Civic Coupe
and I pay $88 liability.

2g's is not bad.. I know a lot of ppl who work in Ontario... live in Quebec who have Quebec licensed cars.. it's a huge break from our rates which are absolutely ridiculous!!! For a 21 y/o you're probably looking at 4g's and up.....

geico, progressive, all the big advertising ones are terrible - unless you have a very poor driving record, then they'll probably beat smaller agency rates.

the funniest thing happened when i used the AIG website to get a quote a few weeks ago. one of the last pages it asked what i paid currently for auto insurance. it beat that rate by a dollar (per 6 months!) - i guess they assume if you're looking its because you've had a bad experience with your agent and want to switch, not because you might actually want a better rate!
