I'm getting more than I expected based on the 2008 EPA rating. Although a lot of cars get more than advertised.

My Kia Rio had a small 1.5L engine and weighed about the same as the Yaris and I always got 26-27mph in town. Now almost consistently 36mpg with the Yaris and I haven't tried switching to synthetic oil yet either.

its just kinna hard to hear that some people averaging 44mpg in winter and 48mpg in summer. sigh* other than that i guess im satisfied..

I get 35 mpg and this includes using a/c all the time and driving up steep mountain roads. I'm perfectly happy with that.

28.6 low (pulling a 4x8 trailer on bad roads in winter) to a 45.5 high in summer.
Usually 34 winter/41 summer.....for a 38.7 average over 54,000 miles.

Very happy with it, just hate winter here.

I've always managed a little over EPA ratings but on this `08 LB I'm really clobbering them. The summer peak was 45.5 mpg and so far this winter (with total grille block and synthetic lubes) I've kept it from falling below 40 MPG. It all depends on how, when, and where you drive.

Fuel economy and net worth have something in common for me. No matter how big the numbers get I always want just a little bit more.

best tank was 44MPG mostly hwy miles however i commute about 90 miles a day on a 2 lane road and i avg about 38 to 40 MPG

when it was below zero and hovering around zero degrees Fahrenheit I was getting consistant ~30MPG, the temps went back up to around 20-25, and I was back at 41.5MPG, it seemed to me that in the summer or whenever its above 50F I get right around 44, but Ive gotten as high as 51.

My lowest MPG ever was 35mpg. Most tanks consistently get 37.5 to 38.5 mpg year round. Highest was 43mpg on a 300 mile round trip running the ac some.

Stock tires, manual transmission, sedan, sensible driving, very infrequent braking and a small amount of coasting. Average speed of 60 to 65 mph on the highway. I have fewer than 5 stops on my 20 mile commute.

Um, how can you be unhappy with your mileage when your driving conditions are the prime recipe for the lowest possible mileage??? You are aware of this right?

Pizza delivery type driving is the worst thing for gas mileage. Adding cold weather kills it even more. You'd probably get better mileage driving 100 mph.

Take a 350 mile highway trip and see what you get. You'll be amazed.

38 hwy, 36 city. A slight drop from the 40/38 I was getting when it was still new. No complaints though. It's noticable only when you whip out the calculator.

BTW, what kind of answer does "other" imply?

getting what we expected . The little engine that could . Both cars ( '08 sedan w/ auto and '08 L.B. w/ 5 sp. man. ) get an overall average of 36 m.p.g.. Both usually have 2 passengers majority of time and is smaller engine that works a bit harder to carry it's weight . Keep tire pressue hovering around 34 p.s.i..

I tend to get around 39 mpg when I don't pay attention, a little more when I do. pretty sweet stuff. When I go really hard it does drop a bit, although I am sure my really hard is much much different from most others. I didn't buy a sports car, if I wanted one, I woulda kept my Viggen.
