[QUOTE=invol;234272]Agreed. Why do they keep insisting on making the cars bigger and bigger? Pi$$es me off. If I had wanted a bigger car, I would've gotten the Corolla in the first place. QUOTE]

It must be the American mania for "super-sizing" (look at the CA woman who just had 8 babies on top of the other 6)... "Bigger is better" and "more is more," according to conventional wisdom. I, too, bought the Yaris because it was the smallest I could get without going to a Smart Twofer (too dangerous for interstates). The Aygo/IQ looks intriguing, but I DO have to haul a kayak.

About this TOYOTOA AYGO... What are its dimensions? Looked it up on the web, but I don't speak metric. Is it smaller or larger than the current Yaris?

Drat; should've waited...

Now I'm upset. Wanted the absolutely smallest car I could find (but safer than the Smart Twofer), and NOW Toyota comes out with a smaller model... Grrrrr! So what do we know about the Aygo??? Guess I can always trade in the Yaris for one later...

"I'm really interested to see if they employ any of the manufacturing techniques developed for the new iQ in the Yaris as they said they would."

I'm assuming the Aygo is the same as the IQ, or are these different models?

The only factor that would deter me from an Aygo (in favor of a Yaris) is whether or not I could fit my kayak and/or bike in the hatchback. But it appears the Aygo/IQ gets much better gas mileage, since it IS smaller...

The benefits of a new car are trouble free miles. The dodge might start to need things in the next year or so. Radiator, breaks, boots, transmission work are a few items that might start costing money. Did they offer a trade in quote on your car?

Trade in...haha. I didnt even bother asking Kbb says ill get about 300 or so

I'm almost certain I have a leak in the radiator.

and I am positive I can sell it for 1200-1000 in the condition that it is in.

Dad does own a mechanic shop though...

Oh tough decisions.

I would have looked at the 08, but they don't have the 4 dr hatch for my fold down seats for my Puppy.

And I plan on having a little rugrat around in the next 3-4 years, but neither here nor there..

What is this someone said about the 1.33 liter engine. I really don't care about performance. As long as it can do 75-80 max on the highway and get me on the road merging I am happy (and hoping for 35 mpg average)

Thanks for the advice everyone

**oh and taxes would be $1097.00 in (IL)**

Wow, then you're quoted for below dealer invoice.
That's amazing.
5dr LB with just power package is $14,782 dealer invoice.
Is that price after $1000 rebate or something?

The three door model also has 60/40 folding rear seat, but that isn't very convenient with a little baby that can't jump in through the hatch like the puppy. :-) My kids are big enough to get in and out by themselves and they like the two door.

I wanted a 1.3 L engine and this is the first I've heard about it coming to NA. Our average (heavily weighted to highway miles) has been about 38.5 MPG for all tanks so far.

There is another post about 0% for 36 months. If you are planning on paying off the car is 3 years maybe Toyota will redo the financing for you.

Got a written quote from the dealer for $15,671 out the doorwhich included Power windows, locks, cold weather package, air, and all the good stuff.

I saw some talk here regarding an updated 2010 model coming out later this year that improves on the car (mileage and anything else?). Does anyone have any info on this, or if it is true. Is it worth waiting?

Also I read on Jalopnik that toyota will be offering larger rebates on its cars. Currently in Illinois, the rebate is only $500 and for recent college grad...anyone think it will go lower?

Thanks for your help and enjoy reading about all of your love for these little cars.

Here's what I did. Go to Carmax.com and find out what they are selling a new Yaris for. Then print out their price and ask you Toyota dealer if they will match it. I got mine for $14,898 and it has almost every option.

Only deal by email....never by phone or person. Never allow them to tell you know...just email them and attach or list the link for the car at carmax and they will call you to match or even beat carmax's price.

I don't know if I'd fit in any smaller, but I could easily go with a 1.0l engine.

This, unfortunately, is a prime example of the "super-sizing" going on here; otherwise known as the modern American. No wonder small cars have had a tough go of it.

Sad, but true. Our neighbors right across the border are most heavy weights.

We were at the Dealership yesterday and the Mgr said Yaris has a rebate I think it was 750 which is a lot...and 500 isn't bad either You can look on the internet for dealer nearest you and it should tell you..You will love your Yaris they are sooooooooooooooo much fun...I sold my new Lexus because I wanted to have fun...And the only thing I miss are the cornering lights..
