And the $$$ I saved on gas on a monthly basis by using this Yaris, I actually saved $$$ by buying this Yaris. I get anywhere from 40mpg@80mph to 50mpg@70mph highway driving. I do very little city driving. I use to spend $1600/monthly on gas using a 2000 Mazda Protege that I still have with 400,000 miles on it and never touched the engine except for maintenence reasons. With the Yaris I put $1200/montly. That's $400 savings on gas which is the same as a montly car payment.
this was in that thread that supmet posted

I could not sit in my car that long, I commute 119 miles a day for work (round trip) x4 days a week, and do some trips on the weekend, and I am only at 135,000. If that is the guy I read a thread on somewhere , I think he finally had a major problem with the vehicle, I'd be curious what failed I never heard anything further. I'm very happy with my Automatic Yaris at 135,000 its running great.

Your commute is just as long as mine. I have 130 mile RT but at 5 days a week. :( I'm at 60k. Time to see the doctor for a checkup.

What's your MPG?

My 1979 Chevy Silverado automatic has 400,000+ thousand on the origional transmission. Gave it to a brother in law who gave it to a friend who owns it now.

Three engines in that time. Some of them abused.

I have been following this never-stop-running-Yaris-story for a long time.
I am from Trinidad, and I do not believe the post about this Yaris doing all that mileage.
410,000 miles in 4 years = 102,500 miles per year.
That is 1,971 miles per week or 281 miles per day.
If you do an average of 50 mph, it means that you drive 5 hours 10 minutes per day, every day for 4 years ?

In our newspaper classifieds you can find odometer resetting services.

trini per4mance, this is a cock-and-bull story.

Worse than being a cock-and-bull story, is the amount of people actually believing the tripe !

Regards,
RR.

Do you have any proof or are you just stating an opinion? If proof...show it. If its just your opinion, you are on thin ice!

Did you follow it closely enough to see my post yet doofus? Lots of people drive that much, in my case my car was driven more like 580 per day, 5 days a week....along with the other 15 or so Yaris the company owned.

My car is the only one that had the motor swapped out, which is why I bought it....for 2000.00.

From Feb 2011.

Wow, you're clueless.

You think no one drives 5 hours a day? Millions of Americans drive more than that everyday for a living. Try 8-10+ hours everyday.

You seem to forgetting that he was a courier. We're not talking about someone who drove over 100K a year off the clock. That would indeed be hard to believe. You have any idea how much cross country tractor trailer drivers drive?

All of your numbers are way off. Triniper4mance laid out is driving schedules. He did 8+ hours a day on the Florida highways delivering medical specimen. Why is that so hard to believe?

5 hours a day would be a part time job cake walk LOL.

There should be a 500K mile club for the lucky drivers that make it.

What kind of tires? My OEM Bridgestones (fronts) are 2 0r 3 mms above the wear bars at 26k miles. The rears of course are more than half there.

I would say the fronts and backs together might (might) last 40ks altogether.

Those were the Potenzas?

My ECHO got about 40k out of a set of Potenzas. I almost never went over 45mph either since I drove mostly to work.

Ditto the Yaris but Ive taken a trip each past summer.

How could there be such a discrepency?
