^ yeah no kidding!

phxdemon - yes, the xb throttle body comes straight out of the intake mani, no angle -- nice and neat.

On the first page he says this is the stock motor still. He has the built one on the side. They are going to use the stand alone on the stock one, tune it, get everything figured out, and then put the built motor in eventually. I think?

Why not using the built motor from the beginning?

The only purpose I could understand is to know how much a stock 1NZ could perform. When the stock motor hit its limits he will put the built motor? But maybe only garm can inform us exactly his intensions!

Yah, I think he's going to run it until it blows or just decides to put the built motor in. I don't really get it either? but who cares what I think, he's the one with the greatest yaris on the planet.

you guys are too kind!

The idea is this. The built motor is brand new, has not ever been run or broken in.

I want to tune the car on the stock motor at 8 psi, and make sure we have reliable boost, fuel, air, no leaks, and a decent base map. THEN we will swap for the built motor and break it in properly (2000 rpm for 20 minutes, change the oil, etc etc).

I know it's a little bit of double work, but I'm not willing to break in an expensive stroked, ported/polished, built motor on an untested fuel and management system.

Art's xB has about the same motor I have. We are hoping that his AEM map will serve as a base map for me.

Just a curiosity garm... what power do you expect the stock motor can output with the setup you are building? And after you swap with the built motor, what are you going to do with the stock motor?

I hope the best for garm especially because it is running with many parts I already own like the garrett turbo, the walbro 255 and ofcourse the 1NZ!

I wish you reach high power on stock (at most 200Bhp) imagine then the power of a built 1NZ!

Good LUCK my friend!
