))) K&N SRi (((
hey guys , im thinking of getting the K&N SRi with the heat shield , i know there are a number of you that have it and was wondering what the perfomance increase is like and if the filter gets heat soaked or if the heat shield does its job ?
sorry if this is a repost. |

Ive been out there trying for info for you... have not tried the product, but what I can tell is that they do get Heatsoaked because of the position most of these filters are placed the Heat sheild will help a lot, and it seems that the Yari likes Short Ram intakes...

I use a cheap ebay cold air intake($50 + shipping) and works just fine. I like that it doen't sit low at all it is just under the headlamp. I have not had a check engine light and fit was great.

I would be more worried if you get a cheap ebay intake, more of the filter qauality.
Sometimes the intake does the job, but if they toss in a cheapo filter, you can be SOL if it holds moisture easily.

For almost half the cost, I would get the aFe Stage 2 CAI.
Check with Garm @ Micro Image, he sells them!!! Get the Pro-Dry filter and you have no oil worries with the MAF. |

Thanks for the info guys ! much appreciated. I notice on the AFE there is a bend in the intake pipe , and the k&N one is straight , doesnt this mean the k&n will have a better flow due to less direction restriction ?
