Exchanging Motor on a Liftback 1.3 Lt
Hi I Have a 2007 1.3 Lt, Yaris Liftback here in Venezuela, and I know that the motor that comes with the car is a 2NZ-FE and I would like to know If I can exchange that motor for a 1NZ-FE.
Thanks in advance Juan Gomez Caracas - Venezuela |

yes, anything can be done with a sufficiently deep wallet, not saying it will be horribly expensive, but anything can be done :)

Here's an engine for sale:
http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2014 As it is an engine from a Yaris, it should be mostly "plug and play" At least in theory.............

The gain in horsepower is not that great!
I would advise you to go for the turbo 1NZ-FE.

Has anyone actually looked at 1NZ and 2NZ side by side and taken notes on what exactly is different?
Sometimes I hear it's just the internals and ECU, sometimes I hear it's quite a bit more, and sometimes that's it's a completely different engine, with parts in different places and all. Also, what's better on each? So 1NZ displaces a bit more and thus makes more power. 2NZ apparently revs higher and has stronger internals. Any truth to these claims? Anything else worth considering? |

No no.The 1NZ-FE and the 2NZ-FE are basically the same engines, but the first one is 1500cc and the second one 1300cc.Both of them love high revs. The 2NZ-FE is a smaller 1NZ-FE, with different internals, ECU, header, gearbox etc.
