Its due to the longer wheelbase.

A few laps from BWRP on Sunday in the new car. Reset the lap record on lap 3. Great fun leading the group to the green, and talking the overall win: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1O1YcEYsr4

Forgot to post much in the way of updates lately... After the Buttonwillow warm up the car went to Portland for the Rose Cup races. Jamie Bestwick qual second, and won the Friday race after Indycar vet turned H Production racer Parker Johnstone broke.

In qual for the Saturday race Bestwick got caught up in some oil from a blown up American Sedan Camaro, and found the tire wall in Turn 12. Toyota lined up a loaner car from a local dealer so we could make repairs, but we elected to call it with one win in the books and headed home. Sadly this meant I also missed the July 4th Majors race a few weeks later, but since I was already qualified for the Runoffs it did not matter.

We had to replace the hood, drivers fender, door, lights and bumper. We were able to get most of the parts from a 2014 prototype. We actually rebuilt the car as a 2014 so we could take Bestwick out testing.

Just picked up the 2015 bodywork yesterday, and we will be putting that on for the Runoffs at Daytona. I like the 2014 nose better.

We have also been working on a new engine for Daytona, fingers crossed its ready in time.

Just had the spare trans checked out, and the OS Giken LSD adjusted with a little hotter setup. The off the shelf setup has been pretty good, but they said they can dial in a touch more lock up since we are running such a sticky tire.

I really like your trailer. Seems light but plenty strong to pull the car????

If ever you have better pics of it and don't mind sharing, would be much appreciated.

Cheers
John

The head that is in the car now was built in 2010, but the bottom end was new in 2012. It did not get used in 2011 or 2013, so its still in good shape.

The spare we are rebuilding was all new in 2012, and has not been run since the end of that year. Now it is getting fitted with custom pistons, upgraded rods and better valve springs.

Very cool. I guess you're raising the CR an RPM limit.?

Compression will only go up a little, class limit for our car is 11:1, but we are looking for another 1000rpm to deal with the top speeds at Daytona - it should also help with the gap between 4th and 5th because I will be able to shift later.

Yes, including the flywheel and crank pulley.

Should have it all back in about a week.

My Loyning head with Jun cams only had one season on it, so there was no reason to send it to the engine builder for a refresh. However, with the much higher RPM expectation it was time for a valve spring upgrade. BC springs and retainers in.
