and it has just one cable for the airbag.

If you do not have the 1NZ-FE 1.5L engine, then your ECM will be different. Also, only the 1NZ-FE ECM has the built in cruise control function.

That is correct. The 2nd generation D4D definitely did not have the factory cruise control.

have a 2007 Yaris Sedan (S) and I want to get cruise control installed, the engine is a 1.5 DOHC 16 valve EFI VVT-i 4 cylinder. Can anyone tell me if I can install original CC as oppsoed to aftermarket?

Hey everybody,

I'd like to do the switch cruise control mod to my 2007 AT Canadian Yaris. From reading all these threads it looks like I'll need the Indicator Module, 2 Connector D3 pins, and an ECM connector A21 pin. The switches and resistors and such I can source myself. I have a neat idea for the switches themselves and will post some pics once I get it all installed and hooked up :)

BTW Thanks a ton for making these DIY guides and making everything so easymode for someone like me wanting to do this. When I bought my Yaris last year (used) the only thing that I was not happy about was it didn't have cruise control. I couldn't believe when I stumbled across these forums that the ECM had this functionality all along. My daily 25km each way commute isn't that bad but CC will make it oh so much better.

With the demise of my Yaris (wife wrote it off) I bought a 2011 Matrix. No Yaris available at the time & the rental from insurance running out.
Is this DIY modification possible on the 2011 Matrix?

Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the only thing needed on the Matrix (2006 and up I believe) is the stalk. Everything else is pre-wired.

I was considering trading in the Yaris for a Matrix for some time and this was one of my wonders as well.

I do not know about setting up a custom switch alternative to the stalk using the instructions in the thread though.

The Matrix uses the same stalk, so the custom switch method will work as well.
