At the time I had a TRD theme going on with the Egg, that's why I went with it. I got a great deal on it though, as TRD was having a "sale" at the time. I think I got it through Sparks for $185.....cheaper than the AEM at the time.

It is well known that Toyota's TRD division doesn't make the products. They hand pick the products that test the best and are the most compatible/stable with there engines.

The only difference is probably the bypass filter on the TRD CAI.

I've had the TRD CAI for 3 years now and would never buy another one. The bypass filter cracked after about 1 1/2 years. It doesn't come with a warranty either because its for off road use only.

And that is why I didn't bother to buy the TRD intake. For less I got a better (IMO) intake (injen sp2024blk).
At least the exhaust, while not made by TRD, is unique. |

Just as a heads up I found out further clarification for Maine today as a friend was mailed a letter about the changes. As long as the exhaust does not go above 95db you can run it on your car in Maine.

Now that we have all of the facts on the TRD blasphemy, what intake would be best...between CAI's and SRI's?
