Smear of what? You can try Past-x by Meguiar's.

I use Meguiar's non-shine polisher. Works great.

well from what i heard by some pro's is that pretty much your going to need a new plastic cover now, specially after using so much other chemicals on it.

3m plastic polish....found in the auto section of walmart or autozone. it's a small black container. you want the one with the pink label, not green.

If it is a foggy spot (etched) you might get it out with brasso polishing compound. I have used it for years to make old snowmobile and boat plastic windshields clear as new. Just put some on the corner of a rag and rub it in. I first learned about this from a old watchmaker I worked for that used it to polish up plastic watch crystals. It is amazing stuff!

Why are you guys polishing your dash?
Personally, I just keep a micro fiber cloth in the glove compartment and wipe the dash on ocasion. This keeps it looking new. My Celica is almost 8 years old and has never had anything applied to the dash it and it still looks like new. |

So what does polishing the dash do? Hmm, maybe if mine was full real carbon fibre, but otherwise?

All you need to clean actually most anything inside and outside of your car are two micro rags......One of then wet with water and wrung out .....then use the dry micro rag to remove the water....and Presto You are finished.......No Fuss....No Muss....works great on house mirrors too....
