One could argue that a Yaris doesn't need anything out of the factory, however you'll find that snow tires / wheels setups are fairly common among our Canadian members.
Not sure how winters in Bristol, Rhode Island compare to Canada so you'll have to use your own judgment there or talk to some of our more northern inclined members about whether it's necessary or not. But you'll find that the stock eagle tires are better for little more than getting amazing MPG. They're very small and very skinny so their traction is going to be limited. For best results and questions about tire pressure you can refer to the MPG subforums. Some members ride with as much as 60PSI in their stock tires. |

Yea last year (first year here) all storms were 18 plus inches, On days like that the trucks get used, but at 12 mpg and 150 plus miles it adds up quickly. My plan is to use the yaris on light snow days and every other day without snow, park the truck untill it's needed. My wife and I both work in Hospitals and they never close for weather (of course) so they always expect you there on time no matter what... Just preparing like I do every yaer thats all... Thats why I'm debating about springs or not. I don't want it too low to kill it in snow.... |

Wow, nice drop and it looks like he still went muddin' with it. lol
For the price, these seem pretty good. Anyone have any reviews of these on concrete roads? Like uneven because of the breaks? My s2000 is on teins and it's bouncy as hell over the roads here. I don't want to just bounce and vibrate on my normal commute |

I haven't had a single negative comment about them yet.

id love to have a pair of the front springs... and extra 56 lbs in the front would really help.

So I know its an old thread but whats the final verdict on the ride quality of this combo? Any MPG difference +/-? Ive got a 150 mile commute daily so I dont really want to change my ride too much towards the uncomfortable.

The Micro Image springs are the stiffest of the aftermarket springs you can buy. A lowered car should have a slight improvement in mileage, but I am guessing.
For your purposes, I would go with something softer.

Personally, I liked them a lot. I bought the set from detroiter and used them on stock shocks for about 10k miles. With these springs and a rear sway bar, the handling was great. Different shock/strut would have damped out the stiffness because I got a little resonance over concrete roads that weren't flat. I think it definitely helped fuel economy, but I only did crude measurements (miles / gallons @ fill ups).

Pics with these springs on
Here are the pics I took this weekend before I took them off.
It's hard to see the gap because the wheels are so dark and the car is so white, but this is the best I have right now. |
