Sounds a bit low however the heat and humidity lately could be a contributing factor. Also, your driving habits/style may not lend itself to economy. Is this your first attempt at monitoring your mileage or have you noticed a drop, hence the concern? What kind of range numbers have you seen previously? And have you made any changes to the car which may contribute? How's your tire pressure?

During this heat wave in the States I can tell you that my mileage is taking a hit for sure.

been driving it the same since i got it, tire pressure could be a bit low, havent checked, just switched over to synthetic oil a few days ago, runs a bit quieter and smoother, the 2nd time was more city stop and go driving. im still getting used to the sensitive gas pedal, my old 95 avalon id have to push down on it a bit more to get it going but ive noticed with my yaris i think im pressing it down too much lol, perhaps i should work on my foot control

malibuguy, you are correct but us americans love our A/C and we love a lot of it. my cavalier gets excellent mileage during the summer. the A/C in it hasn't worked in over 7 years. the yaris, I guess we'll see on that one.

09 sedan, being in Toronto, you have access to good ol' Molyslip. Add it every second oil change, I am sure I got 5-10% increase in fuel mileage. Bump up the tire pressure, results vary, but usually a big increase in mileage there.
By the way, I STILL hate the throttle pedal on my 07, too damn sensitive! |
