I assume they are just air vents to help disapate the heat from the bulbs.

I do believe they are vents to help from building up condensation on the interior lights, could be the thing of getting rid of heat as well.

In some Asian countries the Yaris has many available luxury options. Surely the microphone is not installed in our econo cars. But search the net you may find the option kit available in the far east.

venting for what ? dumbest thing I have ever heard
it is a mic slot for optional voice control navigation and phone... what are you gonna do ? lean forward and yell at your stereo for voice commands ? or have a mic located as close to your head as possible ? ...THINK MAN.... other types of holes like that are for temp sensor for auto temp control but those are almost 100% located near the knees not the roof vent...that just makes me giggle. vent WHAT ? nothing generates enough hot or cold to need to be vented there. just nutty |

Those are actually COIN slots to make the vents work.
Yes, it takes 3 coins, all at the same time. A dingo ate my baby, I'm with you = VENTS?? WTF??? |

They are slots for cars that are equipped with Bluetooth..So Toyota has them in all their cars.. My wifes Corolla equipped with BT has them my Tundra is equipped with BT as it too. My yaris does not have BT but has the slots for them.
