well, the worst quote I ever had was 6 months after my accident that was 4 years ago, I got a quote for 10,500/year for a 4 door auto civic, I think it was an 03... then when I moved here it was 4800$ for PLPD only on my car before the Alberta Government semi-regulated insurance

Here in Thailand you get your first years full coverage insurance thrown in with the car (this is standard for all makes/models of passenger cars), but the cost for renewing is about USD $460/year if you don't have a no claim bonus. Mine will cost USD$320 to re-insure next year :)
