full tank

Guys, my car only reaches 430km (267.18 miles) full tank to fast blinking. Is this kind of mileage alright since i have been driving mostly on highways and little on town.

With 40l, I recently got 683km (and that's one of the worst values).
But I have the small 1.0 engine, don't know which one you have.
FYIO, pushing the accelerator beyond the point where no significant additional acceleration comes up anymore incredibly increases the fuel consumption.
With a 190D, I got 9l/100km without knowing this.
Before, I was quite cautious and got 6l...

that looks pretty bad. Is your car properly tuned? What type of oil you have in the engine?

How many km do you have on the car? Has spark plugs been changed? Have you checked intake air filter?

Its done 137000 km, plugs, everything changed. Using 10/40w engine oil, and its a 1.5l 1NZFE engine, auto.

Do you always run 10/40 or did you switch from 5/30 to it?

10/40 will definitely hurt your mileage. 5W/30 is what Toyota intends for us to use for fuel economy.

Yes. "5W/30 for Energy Conservation" is actually printed right on our oil fill caps.

Maybe Toyota figures that people in Malaysia will read the owners manual, where they know that we Americans will not.

User manual says you can use 10W if you don't have other choices. It also mentions that you should switch it back to 5w30 ASAP.

Owners manual here in malaysia are as rare as the car herself, which is less than 50 in the capital of malaysia. The most is in Langkawi, about 20 in the island itself?
