DIY Remote starter Viper 4204V
I have a 2012 yaris hatch and I'm having a hell of a time with this project :(
I downloaded all the wiring stuff i could find and at the moment the vehicle starts with the key present but the bypass refuses to learn my key. I have a ADS-AL-CA Bypass module and I have the data link cable connected from the starter module to the bypass. Other than that I have the ignition, ground, canh, canl, immobilizer data connected to the OBD2 port like it shows in the guide. (page 11 of this: http://cdncontent2.idatalink.com/cor...N_20140530.pdf ) I go to program the bypass and turn the key, the light goes red, then blinks red indicating it failed to read the data or something. What's the common mistakes here or what should I be looking for? I realize this post doesn't give a lot of information so please let me know what else to show/tell. |

There are different versions of the ADS-AL-CA. The older ones only worked with the 40 bit keys. Are you sure you have a -TL5?

Well see I wish I knew because the box or the device doesn't say clearly :(
This is what it sais on the box and the guy I bought it from asked my car and model etc before selling it to me. I'd be pretty glad if that was the only reason. http://s28.postimg.org/mcete98b1/bypass.jpg |

Actually wow no way, this makes so much more sense now.
Thanks but you led me to the right answer I think, I searched that exact model and came up with http://www.idatalink.com/common/file...-guide?id=1235 It seems its not even for my car!! :( Damn visions electronics making me rage and they gave me the wrong thing! *edit* went to visions and apparently the bypass can be flashed to any vehicle, they flashed it for my toyota for free :) Still frustrating when they tell you its all ready to go and then its not. Hopefully tonight I'll get to try again and have it working. There is one other question I have, Does anyone know where I can find the Park brake wire easier than ripping up the center console and getting it directly at the park brake?
