I Purchased new set of Yokohama 195/60/15 YK-GTX tires. I have put a hundred or so miles on them. My milage may have dropped a tiny bit but the ride is tamer and the cornering is much stickier than the stock size tires! I am happy thus far. These are all season touring tires with wide sipes. Kinda reminds me of my old GT Goodyears on my 87 Camero!

What could be causing the 5% discrepancy between the speedometer and the GPS unit, especially considering the tire size difference and the acknowledged 3% discrepancy with the stock tires/wheels?

Apparently there are two different types of drive gears for the speedometer. I bought the one with the part number 33403-19455, but I've yet to replace it because it's really hard to remove the sensor, especially with the limited space I'm working with. Eventually, if or when I swap the engine I'll also swap the speedo drive gear.

First Gen Yaris 1.0 3-door

Hi!

My son is getting his licence soon and i bought his grandmoms Yaris to him. We plan on getting dome coilovers to it and nice rims. I have been thinking about 15-8" wheels with 25 offset. Has anybody put that kind of rims to a first gen Yaris? Do i need to roll fenders or get fender flares? I plan on getting it very low and tires could be 185/45R15.

Looking to upgrade wheels and tires from stock on my 2009 Yaris RS 4 door... I just bought it, and the springs seem to be slightly lower (or that could be the RS suspension, not sure), they're 'red'. The stock wheel (15x5.5 w/185/60R15) seem to leave a consistent gap all around the fender (not slammed looking, but not jacked up either) so I suspect the drop is very minor (possibly TRD springs)....

My question to you all is, I'm currently looking at a set of Konig Dial In wheels (15x7 +35) in white, and hoping to put on 205/50R15 rubber....

Will this fit? If so, should I expect any rub, or is this well within reach of a mildly lowered Yaris.... PLZ HELP!!!

Yes, you do have the TRD (Eibach) lowering springs which drop 1", probably more by now with aging. Those wheel/tire specs you provided will buzz the rear fenders on hard dips or carrying load of stuff and/or passengers. Better bet would be a 195 tire.

These are the side photos of my car so you can see the gap for reference... you mentioned going to 195's.... would it be best to go 195/55R15's I'm assuming... that would still be on 15x7 wheels?

Are there any other wheel size matched with tire size combos you'd recommend that would leave a uniform fender gap, but perhaps stance out the car better?

Thanks!

You have the much coveted OEM RS wheels. In the minds of many it would be a crime to get rid of those. Adding 10mm wheel spacers in the back would give you that stance you're looking for.

I was going to keep those 15's for winters... And slap on either a set of 15x7 or 16x7 depending on recommendations from the forum (possibly Regamasters)... Given that it has the TRD springs, is there any issues with clearance on either size of those wheels? Also, for either of those wheels, what tire sizes would you recommend?

Quoting myself here which is weird... but ended going with 15x7 silver "Regamasters" sandwiched between 195/55R15 rubber... I'll update pics soon when they arrive!
