6.2" LCD Double-DIN Receiver
What exactly is needed to install these.Currently the car(2007 HB) has faceplate for aftermarket receiver(pioneer detachable face)
I am quite experienced with electronics but not with car stereos.I dont want opinions on quality of unit or dont buy this but buy that. This is all I need and the price is right with shipping included(CAD) I just want to know if I will need another entire dash faceplate or just brackets.I dont need a harness as I will be soldering all the wires directly as I have the schematic/pdf/Wire color codes of the stock wiring. It looks like these brackets will be needed http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1209582...-Dash-Kit.html (Link to radio) http://www.visions.ca/catalogue/cate...560&sku=PD624B Thanks for any and all help. |

Just the brackets (trim kit) are required.

I still highly recommend using the harness adapter instead of soldering directly into the car's harness.
Also, why get a no-name off-brand radio, when you can get a much better one for the same money? Pioneer AVH-X2700BS can be had brand new for the same amount all day long. |

I seriously don't understand what you have against harnesses. Last year I had to replace the first aftermarket HU I put in years ago. Let me tell you, I'm sure glad it was not soldered in.

Exactly! In fact, you don't really need to solder anything. When i installed my head unit, i used an adaptor harness and tap-spliced and taped all the connections with electrical tape. Super easy and fast.

I mean you can still solder the harness adapter to the tail of the plug that comes with the stereo, and then plug that into the car harness. But why make extra work for a worse result?

I use canadian dollars.
Everything is wired up and working perfectly.Receiver, amp and subs.I always direct solder wires when possible.I dont like crimps either so I remove plastic and solder wire to connecters.+ I enjoy soldering. |
