I am feeling so proud, and so optomistic about the future of this country...and it feels SO GOOD!

Humph! Don't dampen my enthusiasm. I am just very VERY relieved that soon the Bush years will be history, (a dark spot in our history, but nonetheless) and that our new, brilliant, 44th President will take over & usher in a new--and better--era in America.

Is it so awful to feel joy, pride, optimism, and hope for the future of this country?

All of the nonsense that is being thrown about in the last two days doesn't serve anyone well. All of the doomsday prognosticating and the "get ready for this" or "this should be interesting" type comments only betray the arrogance of voters who have refused to acknowledge that they are:

a) not in the majority
b) mostly not expert political analysts

I'm not saying "you lost, get over it" but I am saying that we all have an obligation to put aside the negative spirit of this campaign season and do our part to help America get back on track. It begins with a humble spirit which I confess I have lacked at times in my political debates, a spirit that does not assume that I have been right all along and that everyone else is too stupid to see it.

Well, since we just got over the election and both sides feel that their candidate of choice was best for the job....wouldn't it make sense that as happy as Obama supporters are, McCain supporters can be equally as disappointed?

Obama isn't my president until January. I've always said, we'll just have to see what happens. That's neither supporting nor condescending. But just because he won, doesn't mean I have to flip a switch and cheer.

If you read it again you'll see that I didn't say you had to cheer. And in the beginning I said I was talking to the people who have been saying

' "get ready for this" or "this should be interesting" '

So if that doesn't mean you then good for you.

Sadly, this is true. Until January, we're stuck with an unmitigated idiot cowboy as President...

bobby you're not really making anyone "see the light" by being an ass. Just a suggestion.

Oh stop, everyone. Bobby's opinion obviously means more than anyone else's and how can you argue with perfection? If we all drop it he would have to talk to himself and I KNOW he wouldn't want that because I can't stand listening to him anymore.

yes but THE PEOPLE chose him , so therefore you can't really just blame HIM. and don't start with the Florida controversy

Well, actually, in 2000 Bush lost the popular vote to Gore. Nonetheless, what does 'the people chose him' have to do with the fact that he's a dope? The people chose a dope. What's your point? I understand he's the President (hurry, January 20th, HURRY!) but he's stupid, and his administration was the worst in history, and a global embarrasment.

Umm, the people chose him. That is correct. And the country is better off because of this choice...?

You are somewhat confused. Colin Powell was part of that administration and I worked with him in the Army. I do not feel there was any embarrasment there. So based on your statement you do not approve of General Powell? You obviously have not served in any military service or you would show more respect.

George Bush carried 30 states in that election and recently Barack Obama carried 28...... That's all history now but neither were a landslide.

If you had been sincerely so unhappy with President Bush you could have left.

Based on the wishes of President Elect Obama what type of Service are you going to be involved with?

What does Colin Powell think about George W. Bush? Proud of the work he did with that administration??

Please. It was a failed Presidency, and every Republikkkan in this country is running away from Bush/Cheney. Bush was the worst President since Hoover.

Great choice, America!
