Scangauge updates every 1/2 second in fast mode, pretty darn good. Its way more product for the money IMO.

therefore, it is the same refresh rate as the Ecometer, both are 2x a sec.

Just got an Ecometer yesterday from Garm, and I have to say this is probably one of the best things I've bought for the Yaris, right up there with the Fujitsubo. I drove the car the way I normally do, and I'm getting about 36.6 mpg average. It's great to be able to have a tangible way of monitoring the effect your driving style has on mpg. Can't wait till the next tank, so I can experiment with different ways of driving. Greatest $70 so far.

The ecometer does not display or erase trouble codes. If you want that capability and extra engine info the SG II is the way to go. If you only need instant mpg, avg mpg and tach than the ecometer is a less expensive way to get there.

engine codes would complete the perfectness of the ecometer.

iv noticed that using neutral a lot compared to DFCO produces near perfect readings at the pump. DFCO seems to result in readings ~7% higher than actual. anyone else?

I used to use neutral to coast a lot a long time ago, one day I just switched over to never using neutral. I went from consistently getting 36MPG to 39MPG.

Yes, but...
I believe your results per calcs - but it defies common sense considering total disengagement that is 'neutral.' Even with engine cut-off, you wouldn't expect these results. Will be getting ecometer soon and will let all know of change of habits and mpg upon monitoring.

Really, all you need to do is plug it into the OBDII, run your wire how you want it, and mount it where you want it. That's all.

I also have the TomTom Go 740 Live which alerts me when I go above a set speed (72 for me), so I have that as a backup to help keep my speeding under control. Came in handy today. There was a cop sitting with a radar detector on the way home today.

I want to get one of these, how hard is it to hook up? I know nothing about cars or mechanical issues with cars..so will i have a hard time hooking it up? And does it calculate when your sitting there idle?
