I was unaware of Crashy until just now. Other then seeing your avatar that is, which I couldn't comprehend.... very cool! The Yaris as a pickup looks pefect, obviously meant to be.

I just completed putting a dump bed on my Dodge flatbed, it's the same hydraulic setup I had on another truck for 12 years. Bought from Northern Hydraulics, it'd be too much for Crashy, but I'd be happy to PM you some pics showing the geometry of how they work, no use re-inventing the wheel. Once you see the dynamics of it, where the cylinder is, the hinge points, etc., you'll see it would lend itself to being home brewed. Hell I can just post a couple pics here if anyone else is interested.

It's funny that you mention the dump bed pics. I had a guy over chipping some trees for me yesterday and when he went to dump the chips from his truck, I pulled out my phone and started snapping some pics. On Crashy I am using a 1320 lb rating electric linear actuator with a 12" stroke.

At some point I would like to put front fenders with flares on her. When I am plowing snow, if I spin a front tire I spray a rooster tail of snow straight at the front seat on the side of the spin.

I really like the pick-up look on that Yaris. What a great idea!

I wish Scott would make some mini die cast Crashy's. I'd have one as a keyring.

A linear actuator.....good idea.

Here's a shot of the way my flat bed dump is configured, BTW, I have found over the years that nothing seems to be required to keep the bed in the down position, gravity does just fine. I only secure the bed (with a chain binder under the frame) if I am carrying one of my 22' long by 10' wide solar arrays on the racks, they might devolup a little up force going down the road so I take no chances there! Of course a linear actuator will take care of that anyway.

Exactly. I ordered the 12" stroke version of that one.

Making progress with the dump bed. Last night I finished welding the support assembly for the rear pivots:
